Simplicity is the Key
Billy Prather believes in the basics,
the simple elements that help you and your horse maneuver better
down the nearest trail, through a pen of cattle or in the competitive
arena.
His program has worked in all three venues
for alot of years - not only for him, but also for a host of youth
and non-pro riders he's coached from regional shows to world championship
events.
The more simple you can keep things the easier
it is for the horse and rider to understand. Then if and when
a mistake happens, it's not so dramatic. My buttons are so simple
and basic that if a button is forgotten, it's not such a big deal.
Riding success boils down to your foundation.
If you don't have a good foundation, you can't fix things and
you can't build on your program. The more proficient you are at
basic elements, the better you'll be at any maneuver.
The tools that build horsemanship are the same
for everyone, pro and non-pro alike.
Simplicity is the Key.
